Leon Carter is a Shareholder and Board Member of Munck Carter, and practices within the Firm's Litigation section. Mr. Carter is an A-V rated attorney, who has over 20 years of trial and litigation experience working with an impressive client list. In 2007, Mr. Carter was named by the Dallas Business Journal to "The Defenders - One of the Top 15 Business-Defense Lawyers in the D-FW Metroplex, as well as a Super Lawyer by Texas Monthly and Law & Politics Magazine. In 2007, Mr. Carter was also selected as one of Lawdragon's 500 Leading Lawyers in America.
Mr. Carter has served as a Dallas County Assistant District Attorney and as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Texas. He has also served as an adjunct professor at the University of Texas at Arlington and SMU's Dedman School of Law. He has provided legal analysis for Court TV, a CBS affiliate and a FOX affiliate.
After serving as Assistant District Attorney, Mr. Carter joined the law firm of Jackson Walker, L.L.P. where he was a Senior Partner in the Litigation section. His experience includes representing plaintiffs and defendants in the areas of patent litigation, products liability, First Amendment issues, labor and employment, and toxic tort litigation. He has appeared in a variety of State and Federal courts and has tried more than 50 civil and criminal cases to a jury. Mr. Carter has conducted numerous mediations compiling a settlement rate of over ninety percent.
